Charles “Tim” Storey is the president and owner of Storey Foundry Assistance.
Tim got his start in the foundry business making ingot molds, slag pots and soaking pit covers for the steel mills of Northwest Indiana. He began his career in 1973 at Valley Mould & Iron while pursuing his degree at Purdue University in Industrial Engineering Technology, and in 1984 earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Notre Dame while working full time at Valley Mould. He started as an Industrial Engineer and was assigned the task of converting the foundry from green sand to no bake. After a successful launch of the no bake project, Tim was promoted to various operation assignments and then various sales positions where he interacted with customers promoting the advantages of casting produced using the no bake process.
Tim was directly responsible for restarting the Geneva Steel foundry in Provo, Utah in 1988. He then took the position of plant manager of Navistar’s Indianapolis diesel engine block and head foundry. Eventually, Tim was appointed president of IMF North America before starting Storey Foundry Assistance.
For over 50 years as an experienced leader in no bake molding, Tim has been hands on in the evolution of no bake mold production for iron, steel and aluminum castings.
Now with Storey Foundry Assistance, Tim applies his experience working with foundries to optimize the use of no bake technology, build in process repeatability, improve quality and reduce costs.
